Cheers to 70 years – Ava LaTanya’s birthday celebration begins Oct 20… with our last outing on Oct 23rd.

Learning that the Alvin Ailey Dance Company was going to perform in Paris for the first time in over 7 years, was my inspiration for a celebration in Paris. As many of you know…. Dance is my first love!

I was born on October 10, 1954, Ava LaTanya Hall, In Detroit Michigan to Martha and Armsby Hall Jr. I was blessed to have two sisters (Karla and Margo), and a second dad Teddy Harris Jr.

I have had the incredible honor of living all across the US from the west coast of San Diego to New York and other cities in between.

I was also privileged to experience living in Europe during my twenties and spending time working globally (London, Paris, Johannesburg, Riad, Germany, Italy) on behalf of IBM.

I was magically blessed to meet my soulmate (Steven Hilton) almost 40 years ago. (Yes it’s true I picked him up in a night club in NY while out with Margo).

We are blessed to have had Taylor and Justin (Our Children). We continue to be proud (parents) of how creative, tenacious, generous and caring they continue to be as they travel through life in a world very different than the one we grew up in.

My life experiences have taken me into the worlds of professional dance, professional sports, politics in the highest office of our country, the magical music of Motown, the many inspirational forms of the performing and visual arts, the true wonders of technology…. and cultures around the globe.

I am truly humbled that you are taking time from your busy lives to share this milestone birthday with me and my family.

It’s the relationships with all my friends that I am blessed to have… that I hold most dear and truly treasure.
